Gottwald Port Technology Celebrates 40 Years of Close Collaboration with Italian Representative

Düsseldorf, 13. Oktober 2006 – Gottwald Port Technology has recently honoured its Italian representative Dottore Paolo Bartoli, CIBI S.p.A., for 40 years of loyal service and successful collaboration. On the occasion of a Representative Meeting held in Düsseldorf in September 2006, Dott. Paolo Bartoli, co-founder and principal of CIBI, was awarded a golden crane in recognition of his considerable contribution to the success of Gottwald in Italy.

“You have earned the respect of Gottwald,” said Giuseppe Di Lisa, Gottwald’s Sales Director, who presented the service award to Dott. Paolo Bartoli on behalf of Gottwald. “With devotion and sales expertise you have provided an outstanding service to Gottwald and our customers. And your efforts will benefit both, our company and port operators, also for years to come. We applaud this hard work and commitment.” And Di Lisa added: “This long-standing relationship is once again a clear sign of Gottwald’s overall continuity. It is exemplary for our philosophy of maintaining close and supportive working relationships with representatives to provide customers with the best service possible.”

Gottwald’s successful partnership with its Italian representative started way back in June 1966, when Dott. Paolo Bartoli along with another co-founder established CIBI S.p.A. in Savona. Right from the beginning, Bartoli has worked hard with his team to position Gottwald cranes in the Italian market. Already in December 1966, CIBI sold the first Gottwald crane, a diesel-electric Harbour Crane MK 110, to FIAT FERRIERE in Vado Ligure. In the following years, CIBI successfully promoted the benefits of Gottwald’s Mobile Harbour Crane concept and realised significant sales in the territory, culminating with the installation of two 200-tonne G HMK 8710 Mobile Harbour Cranes of the new Generation 5 in the Port of Carrara at the end of 2005. Today, as far as Mobile Harbour Cranes are concerned, Italy is the most important market world-wide for Gottwald Port Technology, with more than 140 cranes sold in the whole country.

At present CIBI has five employees. For Gottwald related technical services CIBI is supported by company C.R.A. whose manager Lo Nigro can also look back on far more than 20 years of experience with Gottwald products.

Dott. Paolo Bartoli attributes his success not only to the quality of the Gottwald products but also to the strong and collaborative partnership. “Through a relationship shaped by similar interests, mutual respect and understanding, complementary expertise and steady interaction, Gottwald works with its representatives to develop service and solutions that respond to current and future customer needs. The people from Gottwald are always open to ideas and suggestions,“ he said.

Apart from a high rate of innovation and state-of-the art technology customer care and service are cornerstones of Gottwald's concept. And in this spirit close relationships with representatives are an integral part of the company’s philosophy. Gottwald has an international service network with sales representatives and service organisations in more than 40 countries around the globe to support customers as quickly and as well as possible. “Our success depends to a great extent on the enthusiasm and energy of the representatives in communicating the benefits and value of Gottwald’s products,” says Di Lisa. “Our accredited representatives who serve as a crucial link between port operators and our company, have been carefully selected and we are in a constant process of developing and qualifying our global network to expand technical knowledge and exchange ideas and strategies for the future.” And to this end Gottwald offers comprehensive support. This includes events such as the representative meetings, workshops and seminars, but also state-of-the-art on-line business applications to exchange customer data and equipment information effectively and to process customer enquiries and orders swiftly.
