HMK330EG_240px.jpgBulk Material – the Right Solution Up for Grabs!

Coal, ore, scrap, gravel, sand, fertiliser, sugar, cereals …the global transport of bulk goods plays a major role in international trade. Gottwald supplies the following cranes for bulk handling at ports and terminals of all sizes:

Harbour Cranes from the HMK, HSK and HPK series
Depending on the cargo handling performance required, the percentage of the total material made up by bulk, and the special requirements, which need to be met, Gottwald offers terminal operators two equipment options for these crane types:

If bulk makes up less than 60% of the material to be handled, a 2-rope crane with motor grab is the most economical solution.

If bulk material makes up more than 80% of the material to be handled or if the terminal has special requirements, investing in a 4-rope grab crane is worthwhile.

Gottwald Port Technology can provide assistance in making a precise analysis of the situation.

4-Rope Grab Cranes – Setting New Standards
4-rope-grab cranes are a type of Harbour Crane that Gottwald has developed for professional bulk handling. The most important features:

HMK260EG_170px.jpgVersatility is maintained, since the cranes can also be used for handling other cargo. 4-rope grab cranes can also handle containers, semi-finished products, pallets and project cargo of all types.

Moreover, 4-rope grab cranes are characterised by the same special features as all Gottwald Harbour Cranes, e.g. extremely short delivery lead and assembly times, operation on diesel-electric or shore power, ease of maintenance and low specific investment costs for a cargo-handling crane and quay infrastructure.

4-Rope Grab Portal Harbour Cranes
Gottwald HSK Portal Harbour Cranes fitted with 4-rope grab meet the demands for high-performance, cost-effectiveness and for rail-mounted cargo-handling cranes that can be integrated into existing or future infrastructures for professional bulk handling. In this way, Gottwald is setting new standards in areas of application previously reserved for specialised cargo handling cranes, e.g. unloading bridge cranes and continuous ship unloaders.
