Two Gottwald G HMK 6407 Mobile Harbour Cranes for the Italian Ports of La Spezia and Augusta

Düsseldorf, 16 July 2008 – Gottwald Port Technology GmbH (Gottwald) has received two more orders from Italy. Both CLP, at the Port of La Spezia, and ITSA, at the Port of Augusta, have ordered one G HMK 6407 Mobile Harbour Crane each, a Model 6 variant, with a maximum lifting capacity of 100 tonnes for handling containers.

The Port of La Spezia Extends its Container-Handling Capacity

Compagnia Lavoratori Portuali La Spezia (CLP), a terminal operator in the Port of La Spezia in the Northwest of Italy, intends to benefit from its purchase of the
G HMK 6407 Mobile Harbour Crane to boost its capacity in the growing field of container handling. The decisive reason for this operator to opt for Gottwald was the positive experience gained by terminal operators at the Port of La Spezia with two Gottwald Mobile Harbour Cranes. The new G HMK 6407 crane is due to commence work before the end of July. This new order brings to three the size of the Gottwald crane fleet at the Port of La Spezia.

ITSA, Augusta Receives its Second G HMK 6407 Mobile Harbour Crane

Another Gottwald G HMK 6407 Mobile Harbour Crane is to begin service in July at the Sicilian Port of Augusta. The operator of that crane is International Terminal Service Augusta (ITSA), a subsidiary of the US International Transportation Service (ITS). Only last year, ITSA took delivery of and commissioned its first Gottwald
G HMK 6407 crane. Both these Mobile Harbour Cranes are to be used mainly for handling containers.

Generation 5 Goes from Strength to Strength

"We are very pleased about these two new orders because they emphasise the confidence our customers place in us and their satisfaction with Gottwald products and services," commented Winfried Lux, Regional Sales Manager responsible for this area on the latest successes. "These two orders also underline the fact that our Generation 5 cranes, here the best-selling G HMK 6407, are on the road to success in the Italian market."
