New
Diversity, New Names
When Gottwald introduced its new Generation 5 cranes at the beginning of 2006, a new crane naming convention was also introduced.
The names show clearly how many variants are possible with Generation 5 cranes. These new names are both an expression of our innovation and confirmation of our tradition.
The familiar crane-type abbreviations HMK, HSK and HPK, used for Generation 4, now have the well-known āGā for Gottwald as a prefix. The abbreviation is followed by numbers specifying the model and the type of hoist followed by further numbers specifying the number of axles or wheels. If the crane is designed for use with a 4-rope grab, it will have a "B" suffix.
The most important parameters for each of the Harbour Cranes can be clearly derived from these names.
